The Community Council’s role, as the most local tier of statutory representation, is to bridge the gap between Aberdeen City Council and Kingswells, helping to make various public bodies aware of the opinions and needs of our community. Any member can undertake an office bearing role but only for a maximum of 3 years. We have no executive powers but are statutory consultees on planning and licensing matters.
Anyone 16 years of age and over who lives in the Kingswells area and whose name is on the electoral register can be nominated or apply to become a Community Councillor.
We are all local residents who give our time voluntarily to support the needs of the community and we encourage other local residents and businesses to take an active role in supporting us.
